2022 COVID Updates

Updated: Thursday 5/19

Since lifting our mask requirement in accordance with Multnomah County recommendations we have been closely monitoring updates. Each week our team has reviewed dashboards, news, and recommendations, to ensure the continued safety of our community.

May 12th, Multnomah County released the “strong recommendation” that individuals wear masks while in groups indoors, due to the rise in transmission. It is expected that this increase in transmission will peak in one month.

Based on this information Fulcrum Fitness will require masks for all indoor training sessions starting Saturday 5/21. We will either update or extend this policy by Saturday 6/25 based on information available at that time.

A few reminders about mask requirements

  • N95, paper, or multilayered cloth masks are required. Gators, bandanas, or single layer cloth are not acceptable. Each location will have free paper masks available for use.

  • Please wear your masks at all times in the gym. If you need a mask, please wait outside for your trainer to provide it prior to entering the gym.

  • Be mindful of others. Keep water breaks quick, and take longer breaks outside when needed.

  • Take your time adjusting. We all know it takes a little time to get used to working out in a mask again. So take it easy to start, especially on HIIT or conditioning days.

Hawthorne Outdoor Platform

  • We are not requiring masks on the Hawthorne outdoor platform.

  • The platform will have a set capacity of 3-6 clients depending on weather conditions.

  • Please avoid working out on the sidewalk. We understand it is tempting, however your Fitpro will ask you to either move into the gym or onto the platform.

We understand this isn’t exciting news to hear. It has been amazing for all of us to see each other fully, many for the first time. However we all know a little discomfort can pay off long term. Just like pushing yourself to do an extra rep, or showing up to session on a tough day, making that extra effort does have an effect. For you, your fellow members, and your trainers. We cannot thank you enough for your positivity and cooperation during these times.

Orignal Post

Happy New Year Fitfam. We’ve made it through so much in the past year together. Thanks to your efforts not only did our community survive, but it also thrived. We’re not completely out of the woods yet and are adapting our policies to make sure you, our staff, and the community as a whole stay healthy this year. Please take a moment to review changes to our polices below. and You can access our full policy breakdown here

Vaxed and Masked

Starting Thursday 1/13 we will be requiring all staff and clients to be fully vaccinated and wear approved face coverings.

The C.D.C. currently defines “fully vaccinated” as those who have received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna shots, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson shot. Proof of vaccination may be shown in person before every training session.

Alternatively a negative test within 72 hours of a visit can be shown to the working fitpro or leadership staff prior to the training session. Starting Thursday 1/20 anyone unable to show a negative test or proof of vaccination will be asked to reschedule their visit.

This is addition to our current mask policy. All clients and staff are required to wear a face covering, including on the Hawthorne outdoor platform. Approved masks include paper, N95, KN95, and cloth. Unapproved masks include gators and bandanas.

A note on “fully-vaccinated”: We anticipate the C.D.C.’s definition of fully vaccinated to continue to update, to include booster shots. We encourage all staff and clients to get boosted as it will likely be a requirement in the future. In the event this definition does change, we will repeat the same process as stated above. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

How to Validate Vaccination Status

Starting Thursday 1/13 Fitpros we will begin asking for vaccine cards or negative tests before the start of class.

We understand this will take a little getting used to so, starting Thursday 1/20 clients that have not shown either option will no longer be able to take class.

Clients that have questions about this process should contact customerserive@fulcrumfitness.com before 1/20.

Once validated, your profile picture will be updated in Zenplanner by a staff member. Please do not adjust this as this is how we will know you’ve already provided proof of vax.

Exposure Policy

Fulcrum Fitness is taking  every precaution possible to maintain the health and safety of our community. In an effort to uphold the community’s health and client privacy the following steps will be taken in the event of exposure.

  1. Any client who attended class with an exposure member will be called by a member of our management team.

  2. All other clients that have attended class at that location will receive an email and text notifying them of the potential exposure.

  3. If needed, the location will be closed for a brief time for sanitization.

  4. All staff thought to be exposed will be tested before returning to the location.

We respect everyone’s personal privacy and will not release information regarding the identity of the exposed or positive client. We ask for the same respect from our community.

A note on staff exposure: At Fulcrum we value our staff and client’s health above all else. This means in the event a staff member is symptomatic or has a positive test result they will not come into the gym until they have received a negative test result and their quarantine has passed. This means clients may experience some last minute schedule adjustments. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Any questions regarding schedule adjustments can be directed to customer service.

Capacity and Reservations

Fulcrum is encouraging clients to pre-register for all classes due to limited class sizes and ease of contact tracing when needed.

Team Classes

  • Indoor Team classes have a set capacity of 18 clients per class. To ensure clients have a space, pre registration is encouraged.

  • Clients that do not register for class may still “drop-in” if capacity has not been met.

Fulcrum is requiring all clients to sign in for class. This can be done so by downloading the Zenplanner app. In the vent of a technical error clients may ask staff to sign them in, but this should not be assumed.

Small Groups

Due to our limited size and the individualized style of our Small Group classes, we will be implementing a no-show or late cancellation fee of $20 for those that sign up for small group sessions. If you need to cancel your class you must do so at least 12 hours in advance. There are a few reasons for this.

  1. We want to be sure that those who want to take classes are able to attend with the smaller class sizes. If the class is labeled as full, those who want to sign up are not able to.

  2. It is important that we know who is signed up and in class for contact tracing purposes. We want to be as on top of this as possible, and it is necessary for us to know who is coming into classes.

  3. This time window gives our trainers a chance to review notes in the attendees’ profiles, tailor, and prepare workouts that are more specifically adapted to the clients who are coming in.  Last minute cancellations or additions to class would detract from the individualized nature of our small group classes.

To cancel or change your reservation log into your Zenplanner account. If you have any issues accessing Zenplanner email customerservice@fulcrumfitness.com, or text our gym text line at 503-382-8658. Any email cancellation will still need to be sent at least 12 hours prior to class.

Livestreams and VOD

During this time having the option to workout from home as needed is a high priority for us. You can access our Video on Demand Library at any point via our Member’s Page. There you will find studio quality workout videos along with recorded livestreams.

More active livestreams may be added based on interest and scheduling needs. If you have thoughts on adding livestream options please let us know.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe and our doors open. As the world continue to shift and change we are doing our part to change alongside in the best ways we can. Your feedback is always appreciated and if you have any thoughts or questions on this update please use the form below.
